- Biography
Maggie Reeves is the senior director of the Georgia Policy Labs at Georgia State University. Serving as the organization’s first director, she built the organization over the past two years and now leads its strategy, team, and operations. Her roles in creating evidence-based policies to improve Georgian’s lives have spanned positions in academia, the state executive branch, and the state judicial branch. Prior to leading the Georgia Policy Labs, she served in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies as the interim director and associate director for the Center for State and Local Finance, where she helped build a robust applied research portfolio and a successful executive education program for government CFOs. She also acted as a member of the school’s Digital Landscape Initiative Task Force, informing the school’s vision and strategy.
Before Georgia State, she worked in Georgia’s state government as a policy and program analyst and a communications specialist for the Georgia Administrative Office of the Courts. There, she created an online, unified statewide system for licensing court professionals and managed several court improvement pilot projects to improve court users’ experiences. She also acted as the spokesperson and policy analyst for the Georgia Commission on Family Violence—with a range of policy analysis, research, and communications duties.
She received her master’s degree in public administration from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University and her bachelor’s degree in women’s studies from Emory University. She is a proud alumna of the Executive Leadership Academy for Women.
