Melissa J. Duncan, the College Research Officer in the Andrew Young School, has extensive experience submitting and managing complex grant and contract portfolios. She has held various research administration positions at Emory University and Georgia State University, and her most recent position was as a Senior Grants Administrator at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to transitioning into higher education in 2012, Melissa spent 12 years at CARE International working in various grants and financial analysis roles.
In her role as College Research Officer, Melissa is responsible for the pre- and post-award administrator to AYSPS NextGen and 2CI Faculty. She is also responsible for supervising a staff of one Grants and Contracts Officer III and coordinating the research administration for the AYSPS.
Melissa holds a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and a master’s degree in Research Administration from Emmanuel College. She is also a Certified Research Administrator.
