Dr. Toppar is a clinical assistant professor in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University. Her research interest is mainly in the economics of developing countries, and she has evaluated the impact of certain technology interventions on agricultural communities in Burkina Faso, Benin, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, and Senegal. As a major supporter of sustainable fashion and having extensively worked in clothing manufacturing, Dr. Toppar is also interested in consumer demand for fashion items and the consumer’s willingness-to pay for clothing from non-fast fashion industries. Her other research topic interests include Agricultural Economics, Labor Economics, and Economics of Education.
Over the years, Dr. Toppar has taught courses in economic development, labor economics, principles of micro and macroeconomics, industrial organization, intermediate microeconomics, econometrics, and international trade. Students who take her classes can look forward to blossoming into independent, creative thinkers who understand and can apply economic concepts regardless of their chosen paths.
