- Biography
Suresh Nath Neupane is a Limited Term Lecturer in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies (AYSPS) at Georgia State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Urban Studies from the Urban Studies Institute at Georgia State University.
Dr. Neupane’s research primarily focuses on social epidemiology, investigating health disparities across racial communities. His research examines the impact of environmental and socio-structural factors, such as air pollution and social vulnerability, on health outcomes in both urban and rural settings. His approach integrates both structural factors and individual biological characteristics as drivers of health outcome disparities in racialized populations. He emphasizes how these factors influence outcomes related to both chronic and infectious diseases.
Dr. Neupane uses machine learning methods to analyze complex data, demonstrating how similar structural factors shape health outcomes across different types of diseases. His work aims to inform public health strategies and interventions tailored to the needs of racially and economically diverse populations.
