GSU CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS
MSW students may choose to pursue one of the following certificate programs during their studies:
- Gerontology (Gerontology Institute)
- Nonprofit Management& Social Enterprise (Department of Public Management and Policy)
- Public Health (School of Public Health)
- Health Literacy (Department of Learning Sciences)
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS) (Department of Geosciences)
Students must inform their School of Social Work advisor and the Director of Student Recruitment and Services of their intent to apply for a certificate program. Certificate programs are optional to the student’s MSW study plan and may require students to extend their time to graduation.
Applying for a Certificate Program
Certificate Programs are offered and coordinated by their respective departments within the University. Each requires a formal application and acceptance before a student can register for classes needed to satisfy the certificate program plan of study. Simply declaring intent to pursue the certificate to a School of Social Work advisor and the Director of Student Recruitment and Services does not satisfy an application for the certificate program. Please note that each certificate program may have distinctive application processes, requirements, and application costs.
